SARAH PALIN EMPHASIZES EXPERIENCE, TRACK RECORD IN ALASKA HOUSE DEBATE
“All the life experience that I have under my belt is preparation for the good things that are in store for Alaska.”
“I’m going to put my skills to good use for Alaska.”
Wasilla, Alaska/October 26, 2022 — Former Gov. Sarah Palin touted her extensive experience as a public servant and track record of legislating effectively during the Alaska Public Media debate among candidates for Alaska’s at-large seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“I’m the one candidate up here with experience … who has had to reach across partisan lines in order to get things done,” Palin said during the debate.
“All the life experience that I have under my belt is preparation for the good things that are in store for Alaska,” Palin added. “I’m going to put my skills to good use for Alaska.”
“Hopefully my track record proves that I’m able to play as a teammate,” she said in response to Rep. Mary Peltola’s praise of her effective working relationship with lawmakers during Palin’s tenure as governor of Alaska. “Somebody like Mary and I can get along. Let that be an example.”
Palin also emphasized her consistent support for development of Alaska’s natural resources, which she said is critical to American energy independence.
“We need to drill, baby, drill. Energy costs are the driver of inflation,” Palin said, advocating for “our own clean, domestic USA oil – coming from Alaska, ideally – instead of hat in hand asking foreign countries to pump and produce for us their dirty, dangerous sources of oil.”
